    The Hunger Games-Mockingjay

    Suzanne Collins

Mockingjay is Suzanne Collins dystopian novel, in continuation of The Hunger Game series, featuring the brave young protagonist Katniss Everdeen, in her quest to unify Panem. IF WE BURN YOU BURN WITH US Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But shes still not safe. A revolution is unfolding, and everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans everyone except Katniss. And yet she must play the most vital part in the final battle. Katniss must become their Mockingjay the symbol of rebellion no matter what the personal cost. The culminating novel in The Hunger Games trilogy of novels authored by Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay follows the story of Katniss Everdeen, who has twice survived the brutal and violent Hunger Games. In this novel, she reluctantly accepts a proposal from District 13, the group behind the rebellion in Panem, by agreeing to be Mockingjay, the symbol representing the rebellion spearheaded by them, and their president Alma Coin. In exchange, she is assured immunity for all the past Hunger Games tributes including her closest friends, Finnick Odair, and Peeta Mellark, as well as the sole privilege of killing President Snow upon his capture. To fulfill her end of the bargain, she must participate in a series of films entitled Propos, as propaganda for the rebellion. Meanwhile, the Capitols secret plan of bombing District 13 comes to light, and the rebels launch their own military strategy against the Capitol, in retaliation. For this purpose, Katniss is sent on a coverup Propos assignment to Capitol, along with her teammates, and Peeta, under the orders of President Coin. However, the assignment in a supposedly safe zone, goes drastically out of control, leading to complete and utter disaster, forcing Katniss to take charge. The book is marked with deadly ambushes, ruthless kills, monsters, and explosions, as the violent combat between the rebels and the Capitol ignites to a feverish pitch, leaving no one safe. How will Katniss own fate unfold, following the deadly aftermath and the unfortunate casualties of war? Written in three parts, with each containing 9 chapters, Mockingjay is a thrilling novel depicting the physical hardships and moral dilemmas that the primary characters experience, under extreme circumstances.

    The Hunger Games-Catching Fire

    Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire is the sequel to The Hunger Games. It follows Katniss Everdeens and Peeta Mellarks return home to District 12 in Penam country after the end of the 74th Hunger Games. KATNISS EVERDEEN SURVIVED THE HUNGER GAMES. NOW THE CAPITOL WANTS REVENGE. Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are still alive. Katniss should be relieved, but now there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create. As the nations watch Katniss and Peeta, the stakes are higher than ever. One false move and the consequences will be unimaginable. Peeta and Katniss are on a victory tour of the country after emerging as winners in the 74th Hunger Games. An angered President Snow comes to see them at their District 12 home for they owe their victory to Peeta breaking game rules in the final round. Snow tells Peeta that her actions have caused rebellions in the districts of Panem. Her first visit is to District 11, home to Hunger Games ally, Rue, where a tribute is made to her memory. She proceeds to visit all 12 districts and learns that her visits have not managed to subdue revolts. Her public proposal to Katniss also fails to placate President Snow. Soon after their return home, they hear the announcement for the 75th Hunger Games in which 24 previous victors will be forced to participate. Both Katniss and Peeta will participate. Katniss vows that she will try her best to ensure Peetas victory in the 75th Games. What happens in the 75th Game, which packs its share of new rules and surprises and with rising tension amongst the people of Penam against the Capitol in the backdrop, is what the book is all about. Overall, the book received positive reviews worldwide. It stood fourth in Time magazines top 100 fiction books of 2009 and eighth in People magazine's Best Books of 2009. It was decided that a film adaptation of Catching Fire released in November, 2013 directed by Francis Lawrence.

    The Hunger Games

    Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a science fiction story, about an annual event between two districts that requires two participants to fight to the death in a televised battle. WINNING WILL MAKE YOU FAMOUS. LOSING MEANS CERTAIN DEATH In a dark vision of the near future, twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live TV show called The Hunger Games. There is only one rule: Kill or be killed. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen steps foward to take her sisters place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature. The Hunger Games is narrated by the protagonist of the story, Katniss Everdeen. The story unfolds in the district of Panem, during the post-apocalyptic period. The district has a time-honoured tradition called the Hunger games. Two participants (a girl and a boy) are chosen via a lottery system from each district, to fight until death, in an area filled with forests, lakes, and mountain ranges. When her sister Primrose is chosen to participate in the game, Katniss adamantly volunteers to go in her place. The male competitor from District 12 is Peeta, the bakers son. Both participants are taken to an area called the Capitol. The Capitol is a harsh and cruel place. They keep all the districts on edge by forcing them to send a girl and boy, between the ages of 12 to 18, to fight in the Hunger games. Once the contestants reach the Capitol, their coach Haymitch Abernathy, his assistant Effie, and their designer Cinna, work together to create a strategy for both players to enact in the battlefield. Katniss and Peeta have to behave like star-crossed lovers who couldnt stand to inflict pain on each other. The goal is to create a memorable impression and gather extra sponsorship. After weeks of preparation, Peeta and Katniss enter the Arena to fight. Here, it is important to remain alive, but Katniss cannot bear the thought of killing tributes and becoming a murderer. How can the star-crossed lovers defy the Capitol and still stay alive? In the end, both have to fight to stay alive, but will the Capitol ever agree to two victors instead of one?

    Geronimo Stilton

Geronimo Stilton Secret Agent starts with Geronimo enjoying the dawn of a new day with a pot of hot cheddar, his favorite kind of breakfast. As he looks out of the window, he sees a strange rodent wearing dark sunglasses. Soon, Geronimo finds that the stranger is following him wherever he goes.
